” See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;  In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.  But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;  I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.  I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:  That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them”- Deut. 30:15-20 KJV.

Because man is a free morale, God ties his destiny to his choice. Life and death, success and failure are strictly tied to your choices. Rich destinies are marred  by wrong choices. The way your life is now is the product of your choices, when men make choices they reap the consequences of their choices. God relates to men in their choices, every life is introduced to its destiny through choices. The choices of where to live, what to eat, what to drink, what to wear, who to marry, the type of business to do etc, are always before us on daily bases. We must not triffle with the opportunity to make tangible decision when the time comes. Choices rule in life therefore we must be very careful in making choices to avoid regret.

“ And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.  But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?  And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.  And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.  And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out” -Gen 39:7-12KJV.

Brother Joseph choose purity instead of pleasure. What he would have lost in few minutes of sinful pleasure was preserved in true holiness. The result was that in due time he became a prime minister in Egypt(a strange land) His former master was under him because he choosed right.  The choices you make either make or mar you, therefore making right choices becomes inevitable. Making right decision will always be easy for men when they discover reason for living ( purpose). Reason for living must be allowed to help you in choosing who to marry, where to live, the number of children to have etc. When we discover purpose and take the right decision to accomplish it, we enjoy the support of God.

These are things that help you in making right decisions. They are :

  • Knowledge – Hosea 4:6, Prov 11:9
  • Experience – Ecc 1:16, Gen 30:27
  • The Word of God – Ps 119:105
  • Spirit of God – Rom 8:14

You need knowledge and experience to be able to make right decisions. The word of God and the Spirit of God will guide you properly on the process of decision making to ensure you choose right.

               CHOICES GOD MADE FOR US

Ephesians chapter one verse four says, “as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: – WEB

There are choices the Lord made for us before the foundation of the world. Jeremiah was  chosen to be a prophet  from his mothers womb – Jere 1:5. He choose Paul to be an Apostle to the Gentiles. Both brother Paul and Jeremiah were successful  because they accepted and submitted to the choice of God in their lives. The choice of purpose was exclusively made by God as your creator. You simply need to discover and submit to them. The choices of where you were born and who born you were made by God, you cannot change them, just accept and submit to them.

                 CHOICES  PEOPLE MAKE FOR US

Everybody born on earth has choices people made for him/her. A branch that stem out of the root will always be part of the root. There are choices God made for us in our parents and also there are choices our parents must make for us. As Samson was growing the mother must make a choice of not barbing his hair weather he understood it or not- Jd 13:1-14. The reason angel Gabriel went to Zachariah and Mary is because there are choices they must make for John and Jesus respectively. These choices are meant to direct the unique purposes of their lives

Esau  choose food and lost his birth right – Heb 12:16-17, “ lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.  For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears..KJV. Samson ignored the instruction of the angel, he choose his own way of life and ended up a toy in the hand of his enemies. A  colourful destiny was cut short. My dear be careful of what you are doing because all road does not lead to your destiny.

Jesus choose to die a shameful death on the cross for the salvation of man kind. God gave Him a name that is above others, “ Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father..” -Phil 2:9-11.WEB

Mary Magdalene choose to make a costly sacrifice to reciprocate the love of the master and wrote her name with a golden pen.

You are the PRODUCT of your CHOICES, so CHOOSE RIGHT!
